Once upon a time, I was one of the best DDR players in Canada...the highlight of my DDR career, you could say, was winning EverSnow 2K4 in Toronto, Ontario. It was especially great since I showed up unannounced from halfway across the country and won the final song on a best out of 5 match by one great.

I've been playing off and on since late summer of 2000, and learned totally from scratch starting on a 1.5 DDR machine that was $2/game. I credit much of my skill to a great scene in Calgary, Alberta, where I lived most of my "career". Special thanks to Bemaniac (Adam Singer) for showing me, well, just showing me how far you can get with enough dedication and effort. The ripples of Adam's prescence can still be seen in Calgary, and Canada to this day, in my opinion at least. (Out of the best players in Calgary, everyone has either known him, or knows someone who knew him)

Along with the efforts of many, I started and ran the first DDR Conferences in Canada, starting in 2003 - I've been involved with most of the subsequent conferences in some way since, and helped pioneer the idea of ddrcanada.com, (the initial payment came off my credit card XD) which is now rgcanada.com. (rhythm games canada) I'm not nearly as involved as I used to be, though I'm still a moderator there.

I've been on TV, radio, national TV, many good memories come from this time in my life, infinite road trips, plane flights and countless hours planning, playing, hanging out until all ridiculous hours of the morning, and nothing ever beats those surprise appearances I'm almost notorious for.

If I had to guess, I'd say I'm about 1/2 as good at ITG as DDR, plus I actually have to use the bar. I didn't get into ITG until we got ITG 2 in Calgary around January of '06. I played it a couple of times before then, and did really well my first time playing (was SDEing hard charts on R1) but by the time we actually got it in Calgary, my skill had actually decreased, unfortunately. I think it would have helped me a lot if we had gotten it right away like some places had.

My average is a bit above 97 as you can probably see now, I think I can get 98 with a bit of effort, and 99 if I really push myself to improve my stamina, since that's the biggest thing holding me back. Is it just me, or is the visual timing on R23 easier? Seemed like it was when I was in Edmonton a while ago...anyway...

We finally got ITG 2 in Victoria after over a year of waiting. Haven't improved my average much since we got it since I haven't been hardcore hardcore playing, but I'll probably play a little more in the time to come. On another note I really need to get around to organizing all my custom charts and such.

I'm a third(ish) year philosophy student at the University of Victoria, in British Columbia, Canada. I have an interest in politics and am a member of the campus NDP. If you're an American, NDP = OMG COMMUNISM. (not really, but that's actually what they used to call it on American newsreels in the 1930s...you know that whole Universal Medicare thing? NDP, which was formerly known as the CCF created that many years ago)

I have an interest in psychology/counselling, however my interest is in a relatively uncommon tradition of counselling so I've never really had the motivation to get into psychology in terms of courses. (Existential Psychology - at least if I had to pick something that's the closest category.) I also have an interest in Economics, and I am fluent in both English and French. (my french est rouille...and I can't use alt-accents on this form) I like anime too, not all super-hardcore, but I find it interesting...and I heart Percussion Freaks (go Korea) 3rd mix, for the win. I used to be really into RPGs, but not as much anymore...

I've been through good and bad times in the Rhythm Games Community, and you could say the "really fun times" are mostly over. Nevertheless, I treasure my memories, of friends, of tournaments, of communities that I'm proud I could say I was a part of. Though all things come to an end, always try to enjoy every moment of the good things you have. Losing anything only hurts because it was worth something to begin with - remember that.
